Project Engineer (Civil)

Malt Distilling Elgin 

Reports To: Lead Project Engineer 

start and finish  - 8am and 6pm flex
5 days a week FULL time 
3 days per week on site HYBRID - expecations os for 5+ days when the site is comissioning 

    Context/Scope: 
    This role executes Capex projects within the Diageo Global Engineering category managing individual projects from concept to handover in Elgin.  

 

  Dimensions:    
    a)  Safety 
    Safe Execution of projects will be the number one priority for the role-holder.    
    b)  Financial: The role will have management responsibility for a portfolio of projects.    
    c) Leadership Responsibilities: The role has full responsibility for delivery of Capex projects.

A flexible leadership style is required, which will allow influencing at all levels both internally and externally through coaching, facilitation and cross-functional team working. The ability to hold suppliers and other stakeholders to account is essential.   In particular, it is critical that the role delivers projects with zero harm. Ability and willingness to set and maintain clear direction on safety is essential.   

 

    Purpose of Role 
    To develop, initiate and implement Capex projects, in line with the agreed Annual Operating Plan.   Liaise and interact with other business functions to ensure that the overall supply operation works in an optimum, cohesive manner both during and after project implementation.   Deliver optimum shareholder value through excellent delivery of Capex investments.

Deliver Projects: ●  With zero harm ●  On time / In full ●  In line with cash management targets ●  In budget Ensuring solutions comply with Diageo’s governance and legal standards.  

 

  Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Extensive experience in civil engineering.
  • Proven project management expertise.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving and auditing capabilities.
  • Effective facilitation and coaching skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Background in Mechanical Engineering, ideally with expertise in fluid transfer technology relevant to malt distilling (preferred but not required).

As a temporary contractor, you'll be employed by our Managed Service Provider, Magnit Global, who manage most of our temporary contract hiring, you will not be employed by Diageo."
