About the Role

As a Supply Optimization Project Manager, you’ll be part of an established and respected team of five Project Managers dedicated to ensuring packaging material continuity and quality across Diageo’s European business. Your focus will be on managing packaging changes related to supplier transitions, business continuity, and material improvements—across key categories including glass, PET, closures, corrugate, and labels.

This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their experience in project management and technical material changes within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You’ll work alongside experienced Packaging Development Leads, gain exposure to cross-functional stakeholders, and be supported with clear objectives and mentorship throughout your term.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and deliver cross-functional supply-driven packaging projects, including onboarding new suppliers, qualifying new materials, and managing sourcing changes.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of procurement-related projects in partnership with supply and procurement teams.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, risk profiles, mitigation strategies, and resourcing needs.
  • Use Diageo’s standard commercialization processes and governance tools (Navigate, Change Control, Technical Readiness) to deliver projects to the highest standard.
  • Influence and align stakeholders across supply, procurement, and technical teams to ensure smooth project execution and clear communication.
  • Apply creative thinking to overcome technical challenges and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners, including suppliers and regulatory bodies.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in project management, packaging, or a related field.
  • Experience with packaging development, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder communication.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and align international, cross-cultural teams.
  • Proven ability to lead in a regional, international, or global context.
  • A degree (preferably in a technical discipline such as Packaging Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar).
  • Highly organized with strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment where priorities can shift quickly.
