The Liquid Technical Project Manager has responsibility for:
- Supporting R&D during liquid concept development stage of Innovations to ensure liquids meet holistic business requirements
- Leading the liquid commercialization activities across a wide variety of liquid types, from Low/No-Alc and Cocktails to distilled spirits and formulated products
- Productivity/Sustainability
The BC&I Team covers the full spectrum of liquid technologies and product categories, including Non-Alc, Draught Cocktails, RTDs and Premix, Flavoured Spirits, and Full-Strength Spirits (such as Gin, Rum, and Vodka). Our BC&I pipeline is a dynamic and intricate matrix of projects across different categories, brands, markets, and innovation hubs, delivered through Diageo production sites, joint ventures, and a range of third-party operations across Great Britain and continental Europe.
In this role, you will:
Work in partnership with Innovation, Brands, R&D, Global Technical, Spirit Supply, Production Sites and external Suppliers: executing best in class “concept to commercialization” of liquid formulations adhering to the Brand Legacy Framework for each Brand.
- Project Delivery: deliver fully commercialized liquids for the supply solution.
- Technical Ability: Maintain and develop technical ability to be recognised as a global expert in spirits and formulated products production. Apply technical knowledge to solving complex problems for Diageo.
- Productivity Agenda: Partnering with technical functions to shape the future of Diageo by powering progress competitively advantaged supply chains (Enable Growth and Drive Profitability by influencing cash and costs).
- Technical Consultancy: Apply technical knowledge and experience to lead solution to problems on processes at production sites.
- Business Relationships: Build and maintain excellent relationships to enable delivery (i.e. Brand Owners, Markets, Innovation, Suppliers, Technology providers)
- Technical expertise across liquid development and commercialisation with the ability to evaluate the practical considerations of taking a product from lab scale to industrial production.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the capability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- A degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience), within a technical field. Food Technology or Chemistry backgrounds with experience in food & beverage development and production (i.e. processing, microbiology, flavours, legal requirements, packaging, market research etc) are a strong plus.
