Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician 

Location: Lebanon, KY

Duration: 7 months 

 

About the role:

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that grain, fermentation, and distillation processes consistently meet quality specifications. Your work will include conducting analytical testing, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment (including HPLC), and performing yeast cell counts and viability checks. You will also contribute to whiskey distillate sensory panels, maintain sensory lab standards, and support compliance with ISO 9001 and the Quality Management System.

 

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor testing of incoming grain to ensure conformance to specifications. 
  • Conduct extensive analytical testing on fermentation and distillation samples to ensure adherence to specifications. 
  • Operation, maintenance and calibration of various laboratory instruments, including HPLC. 
  • Conduct extensive analytical testing on fermentation and distillation samples to ensure adherence to specification. 
  • Operation, maintenance and calibration of various laboratory instruments, including HPLC. 
  • Conduct ongoing yeast cell counts and viability. 
  • Contribute to sensory taste panel for whiskey distillate 
  • Maintain Sensory Laboratory, sensory standards, and sample shipping. 
  • Support compliance to ISO 9001 and the Quality Management System. 
  • Deliver on Quality objectives as assigned. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Quality Team Lead and Quality Manager 

 

Must Have Skills: 

  • 1+ years of analytical experience in a laboratory or in a food/ beverage manufacturing environment (distillery experience preferred)
  • Experience with HPLC
  • Demonstrated laboratory testing capabilities
  • Proficient with computers, having good skills with MS Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Strong organization skills

 

Nice Have Skills: 

  • Experience with ISO 9001, SQF, BRC or similar Audit Standard is preferred
  • Science Degree/Diploma
  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset
