Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated AI Developer to support the design and development of custom AI solutions, primarily using Generative AI and Microsoft Azure technologies. The role will focus on building complex solutions that are not readily available as out-of-the-box products, including AI-powered search, document processing, content generation, intelligent automation, and agent-based applications, chatbots.
The successful candidate will work closely with a hands-on AI development team and should be willing to learn new technologies, explore emerging AI capabilities, and take ownership of challenging technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support custom AI and Generative AI solutions.
- Build solutions using Microsoft Azure, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Document Intelligence, and related AI services.
- Develop natural language processing, semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), OCR, document extraction, and document generation solutions.
- Build image-processing and image-generation use cases, including extracting information from images and generating flowcharts or architecture diagrams.
- Develop AI agents, multi-agent workflows, and agentic solutions using appropriate frameworks and design patterns.
- Integrate AI capabilities with Power Platform technologies, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Copilot Studio.
- Develop APIs, services, and containerised workloads using Azure Container Apps, Azure Functions, or similar Azure services.
- Use Azure DevOps for source control, build pipelines, deployments, testing, and application lifecycle management.
- Apply software engineering best practices, including modular design, code reviews, logging, error handling, security, testing, and technical documentation.
- Follow Responsible AI principles, including data privacy, security, transparency, human oversight, and risk management.
- Coordinate with cloud infrastructure, security, networking, and enterprise architecture teams during solution design and deployment.
- Investigate technical issues, evaluate new AI capabilities, and propose practical solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts, risks, and solution designs clearly to both technical teams and business leaders.
- Prepare clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, demonstrations, and presentations.
- Build and integrate AI agents with enterprise tools, APIs, and data sources using standards such as Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Support multi-model solution design, including model routing based on capability, cost, latency, security, and use-case requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 -5 years of relevant experience.
- Foundational knowledge of AI, machine learning, natural language processing, Generative AI, and large language models.
- Programming experience in Python as the primary language.
- Working knowledge of JSON, REST APIs, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and basic scripting.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search, retrieval-augmented generation, and AI agent concepts.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, cloud architecture, identity, networking, security, storage, monitoring, and deployment.
- Familiarity with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Azure Document Intelligence, Power Platform, or Azure DevOps is desirable.
- Basic understanding of agentic AI concepts, tool calling, Model Context Protocol (MCP), multi-agent orchestration, and model routing.
- Familiarity with selecting and integrating different AI models based on performance, cost, latency, context-window, and data-security requirements is desirable.
- Basic understanding of containers, Docker, APIs, authentication, role-based access control, and secure application development.
- Awareness of Responsible AI principles and secure handling of enterprise data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research unfamiliar technologies and learn independently.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical subjects in a simple and clear manner.
- Good presentation, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong willingness to learn, explore, accept technical challenges, and deliver working solutions.
- Relevant Microsoft Azure, AI, Power Platform, or DevOps certifications are an added advantage.
Degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
