Job Description:

The Permit Co-Ordinator (Compliance) will report to the Site Engineering Maintenance Manager (Compliance) for Leven Packaging. 

The aim is to ensure the site is compliant in accordance with current legislation and Diageo Global Technical standards. 

This would ensure compliance in the following areas: - 

Control of Contractors 

Permit Issuing 

Risk assessments and Method Statements 

Permit Documentation archive 

Delivering and embedding a positive safety culture 

  • Facilitate Weekly Control of Contractors meeting. 
  • Facilitate permit cover across shifts as required. 
  • First Approver for all Site Engineering RAMS managed through the Helix system. 
  • 2nd Approver for all other site works RAMS managed through the Helix system. 
  • Issue permits as required to safely control contractor/in-house activities and monitor compliance throughout the works, ensure sign off on completion of works and close permits in Enablon 
  • Carry out periodic Contractor Audits. 
  • Deliver relevant H&S briefs, safety alerts and toolbox talks to Contractors. 
  • Assist in developing standardised engineering strategies for the Control of Contractors. 
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control. 
  • Prepare reports and update visual management for Maintenance Manager. 
  • Contribute to dynamic risk assessment process for non-routine activities.  

Skills:

The main focus of role is around SAFE management of contractors: 

  • Computer literate (e.g. Microsoft office and CMMS such as SAP) 
  • Previous permit writing experience 
  • Strong working knowledge of Risk assessments and Method Statements 
  • Strong working knowledge of permit categories: 
  • Working at Height 
  • Confined Space Entry 
  • Hot Work 
  • Electrical (LV/HV) Excavations Lifting Operations 
  • Strong working knowledge of LOTO and Process Isolation

Education:

Must have NEBOSH General certificate as a minimum

Recommended:

  • Emergency First Aid
  • SMSTS Site Management Safety Training Scheme or similar
  • CSCS Card
